7 MAY PEOPLE' S KITCHEN IN SOLIDARITY WITH PROSFYGIKA

Prosfygika is a squatted community in the centre of Athens where more than 400 people live and are auto-organized on the basis of anarchist principles. The families, migrants, refugees and political militants residing in Prosfygika form an essential part of the local struggles against fascism, sexism, racism and the struggles for international solidarity. Since 16 years Prosfygika has been an incredible example of self-determination and organisation, removing drug markets from the area and strengthening cultural, social and political ties instead.

Now Prosfygika is under threat. The region of Attica initiated a plan for the eviction and gentrification of Prosfygika in the next months which will lead to skyrocketting rents in the area and devastating consequences for the physical and mental health of the dozens of vulnerable kids, elderly and patients living in the community.
